The advantadge of a multiple entry visa is that you can leave the country without loosing the possibility of returning. That gave us the opportunity to hop into Scandinavia and still be able to continue our travel in Russia at a later moment. That ‘s why we can extensively explore the most northern part of our continent, where 4 countries melt into one big tundra and mountain area.
It is quiet here, and timeless. Every day the colors are changing and in the evening we briefly see the northern lights.
You can endlessly roam the fjells without path or destination and be surprised by marvelous viewpoints,
hidden canyons,
A sunny day gives the pleasant opportunity to write down some thoughts, while waiting for a fresh cup of coffee. 🙂
In the mean time the girls are scanning the area.
Higher up on the fjells the world is already frozen and the sun never sets without a lightshow.
In the mean time Daisy has been cruising for about 10000km, so she definately was in need of an oil change. Clearly she didn’t feel the same way, ‘cause she sprayed the oil all over the garage floor, except in the barrel that the mecanic had put under her belly. Oops… sorry! The poor guy didn’t like that at all, but Daisy was glooming. Silently, in our corner, we had to smile as well because of this dirty trick of that mean old lady.
With Daisy like new again, every day we reconsidered crossing over to the Altai or Kyrgystan again. And every day we postponed our decision. It is so incredibly beautiful here. And deserted. And the girls are so happy.
The tundra keeps us in her grip.
An icy northpole wind gives us the promise of winter and snow.
The polar dog is home.
And we just don’t wanna leave! 🙂
