De salami beweegt nog!

Koud. Koud. Koud. Zelfs de charcuterie zit stijf bevroren in de koelbox. Alleen de salami beweegt nog! In normale omstandigheden klinkt dat verontrustend, maar nu zijn we blij met een nog beweeglijk stukje vlees tussen onze boterham. 🙂

De rit zuidwaarts doet ons pijn. Het Noorderlicht dat ons zo vaak heeft verblijd, vervaagt, om daarna volledig te verdwijnen. Er zijn weer snelwegen, in Trondheim belanden we in een file, alles is druk, druk, druk. Als een gifwolk komt het op ons af en het maakt ons neerslachtig en erg nerveus. Dit is teveel!

Gelukkig heeft een vriendin van ons een cabin in de bossen, vlakbij de grens tussen Noorwegen en Zweden. We mogen er een paar dagen naartoe om onszelf wat respijt te gunnen in de harde overgang naar de “beschaafde” wereld.

Het pad naar het huisje wordt versperd dank zij een overijverige bever, maar we pakken onze rugzakken, laten Daisy achter en trekken te voet verder.

_noo5617De time-out in de bossen doet deugd. Weer even terug alleen in de natuur. Tijd om op adem te komen, voor we verder huiswaarts rijden.

Is het toeval of slaat ons hoofd echt tilt? Maar door een onoplettendheid wissen we al onze laatste foto’s. Oh nee! Gelukkig zitten de herinneringen wel veilig opgeslagen…

Dan breekt het moment aan dat we het liefst eeuwig hadden uitgesteld. Afscheid nemen van onze geliefde vrijheid, ruimte en rust.

Met tegenzin beginnen we aan de laatste etappe. Daisy sputtert. Wij zijn gespannen. Onze honden treuren. Wat is dit erg!

Op zo’n 400 km van huis, in een bos in Duitsland, wil Daisy niet meer starten. Uiteindelijk krijgen we haar toch nog aan de praat en houdt ze het vol tot aan onze voordeur. Maar dan is het finito. De ouwe dame vindt het welletjes geweest en trekt zich terug in een winterslaap.

Niet alleen Daisy heeft het moeilijk. De luchtvervuiling en alle drukte hier hakken er stevig in. We hebben allemaal moeite met ademhalen, letterlijk en figuurlijk.

En toch… Een gevoel van dankbaarheid overheerst. Om al het schone, het pure, het echte dat we zo lang mochten beleven, voelen en absorberen.

Onze meisjes waren de meest schitterende teamgenoten die iemand zich kan wensen. Eén met de natuur, met zichzelf en met ons.

En daarom, tot slot, een kleine ode aan deze twee wonderlijke, heerlijke, prachtige wezens die er elke keer weer in slagen een mensenhart te doen zwellen van trots, ontroering en vreugde.

    O! Het is al weer over. Welkom thuis, maar ik begrijp zo goed, dat je het liefst weer hard terug rent. Inpakken en wegwezen. Ja vooral die zuivere lucht is iets wat je zo mist. En die drukte zo niet.
    Ik wilde voor jullie dat het nog heel lang had mogen duren en wens jullie heel veel sterkte met het opnieuw aanpassen aan het gewone dagelijkse leven.
    Maar ik weet zeker dat een paar dingen wel weer hoog gewaardeerd worden.
    Zelf ben daarentegen wel heel blij dat jullie weer veilig thuis zijn. Zeker jullie wispelturige Daisy in ogenschouw genomen.
    Maar wat heb ik genoten van je verhalen en foto’s. <3
    Wat een ervaring voor jullie allemaal.
