Very fast the days are getting shorter now. Dusk falls quicker and quicker every day and we have to take that into account during our evening walks.
And yet it doesn’t bother us that much, ‘cause the evenings in the arctic are never boring. One night we have animal company and from across the lake we are surprised by the powerful and emotional howl of a wolf. Goosebumps!
Other nights the northern lights appear. Sometimes quiet and serene, sometimes fierce and passionate. It is a breathtaking event, over and over again. Swirling, mighty and magical!
And than I hope, that man never seizes to wonder, and there will be no moment that magic will be replaced by the awareness of cold feet, a painfull back or the lack of sleep… 🙂
